What a great afternoon we had with the Tapanui Fire Brigade. Thanks so much for teaching us about being Firewise and giving up your time to come and show us what a smoke filled room looks like, how dark it is and tricky it is to find our way around. It was fun to use the hoses and try on your helmets! It was a great way to have a fire drill for the whole school.

Fun with Nursery Rhymes
Mrs Stuart's literacy group have been reading nursery rhymes and talking about sounds and rhyming words. We had fun with this nursery rhyme by changing some of the words. Look at the amazing finger pointing!
Being Artists like Van Gogh
Last week Mrs Harris brought over a big head from a sunflower from her garden. We had a look at a painting Vincent Van Gogh did of a vase of sunflowers. We talked about his techniques and then experimented ourselves.

Preparing for Armistice Day
We have been learning about Armistice Day. We are making some poppies for a wreath that we are going to present at our Armistice Day service on Friday.
